We are grandparents who have been living under the illusion that we were "normal" people, people who "counted."   We discover suddenly that the man selected to sit in the Oval Office thinks we are simply "fringe people."   We never knew that of ourselves.   We have differing viewpoints on some issues, but we are all in agreement on one thing: The theft of the U.S. Presidential Election in 2000, wherein the Republican Party Machine managed to stop the vote counting by having a partisan U.S. Supreme Court intervene in a state matter AND managed to stop many votes from ever being CAST in the first place is the greatest election disgrace in U.S. history.

We are sad and ashamed and determined to channel our grief and embarrassment into a firm commitment to see that such a travesty NEVER occurs again.   We refuse to bury our heads in the sand or be like the people in Germany in the early forties who saw the columns of smoke and the trains in the night but said nothing.   "They" took the votes in Florida, and we know that unless we act, they will, one by one, take away the rest of our rights.
